Bangkok is a city certainly well known for its high quality budget hotels with excellent affordable rates. But after the recent government protests which as ceased for now – hotels in Bangkok whether budget or luxury have begun to drastically reduce room rates even more. As a result now is the best time to find hotel deals especially for hotels in the budget range.There is definitely no shortage of hotels in Bangkok. Whether you are on a budget or can afford to splurge, consider staying at one of Bangkok’s many new boutique hotels opening up everywhere overnight.

Just what is a boutique hotel in Bangkok exactly?

A hotel in the boutique class are small though the rooms are quite spacious. Most of these hotels have fewer than 20 rooms, though there are a few with at least 50. But the distinguishing factor between a boutique hotel and a mainstream hotel is the emphasis on hospitality. Since boutique hotels are smaller in stature guests can expect to feel more personal service. Though don’t expect to be pampered as if you are in a 5 star luxury hotel.

Many of these hotels are operated and run solely by Thais. So the room rates are very affordable and are considered in the budget range. And since most of the boutique hotels in Bangkok have just opened recently the property itself is in excellent conditions.

You can find many boutique hotels in central Bangkok such as:

    * Bedrooms Boutique Hotel
* Sacha’s Hotel Uno
* Paradiso Boutique Suites

All of the hotels mentioned above are near a BTS Sky Train station so that most of the major shopping destinations and attractions can be reached easily and quickly.

And if central Bangkok is too hectic and noisy for you then head up just a little bit towards the northeast to Khao San Road.

This quiet little neck of the woods is not far from central Bangkok. Though Khao San road is a popular backpacker’s den in the recent years many hotels have sprouted up:

    * Navalai River Resort
* Boonsiri Inn
* Buddy Lodge

Finally, which ever hotel you are planning to stay in here is one really good money-saving tip. It is best to reserve your room through a licensed hotel booking agency that is based in Bangkok. Such agencies are in a better position of acquiring better discounted room rates since they are contracted as wholesalers with hotels throughout Bangkok, so you can expect to receive 20% to 40% off.

Praya Palazzo is a stylish 17-room mansion with a rich historical background that offers a unique experience for the discerning travelers. Dating back to the ancient kingdom of Siam, the mansion is situated in the heart of Bangkok on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, one of the most significant rivers in Thailand. Ideal for travelers who want to relax while enjoying city life in the oldest part of Bangkok, Praya Palazzo is in walking distance to many historical sites and attractions such as The Grand Palace, The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn), Chinatown, The National Museum, and Kao San Road just to name a few. Praya Palazzo brings back the sense and lifestyle of the King Rama V period, conveying authentic Thai culture through vision, taste, scent, rhyme and touch.

“It depends a lot on what type of traveller you are and how much travelling you plan to do.

Accommodation
With a couple of exceptions (notably Ko Phi Phi and some parts of Phuket) you should be able to get a basic fan-cooled room for under 300 baht. If you want air-con then you’re looking at ther 500-1,000B range. Facilities like swimming pools, business centres and again push the price upwards. Take a look through the various accommodation sections on Travelfish to get an idea of what standard of accommodation works for you.

Food
If you’re eating on the street, three meals a day, then 100-150B per day is adequate. If you’re eating three staple meals in a backpacker style restaurant, you’ll be spending more like 250-400B a day. If you’re eating dinner at proper restaurants, then you could easily be spending 300B or more a meal.

Water
Thailand is hot and you’ll need to be drinking a lot of water. At least two to three litres of water a day — that will cost around 40-60B a day.

Alcohol
Booze is generally cheap compared to what you’d pay at home. A large bottle of beer can cost around 50B, a bottle of good gin or vodka around 600B. If you’ve having a couple of big beers every night with dinner, this will add up quickly.

Transport
Buses, trains and low cost flights are all very affordable. There is no real guideline in this regard as it depends entirely on how far and frequently you are travelling.”

Thailand is the most popular destination in Southeast Asia. Millions of travelers from all over the world visit this beautiful country which is renowned for its hospitality, Buddhist temples and breathtaking natural beauty. Thailand has something to offer to everyone irrespective what your tastes are.

The best time to visit Thailand is from February to March when the weather is perfect and the time is ideal to have a wonderful beach holiday. July to November can be uncomfortable since the rainy season starts in July and goes on till November. During this period, the weather can be unpredictable and extremely humid and sticky.

The peak tourist seasons are August, November, December, February and March. Air tickets to Thailand in the peak season are extremely expensive and it is a good idea to book tickets well in advance so that you can avail cheap fares. The secondary peak months are in January and July.

For those who want to save on money, the best time to visit Thailand would be during the off peak months of April, May, June, September and October. You will not only save money on air fare but you will save money on accommodation. During off peak season, discounted rooms are widely available. Even in the peak season you can get a good deal if you avoid the regular tourist spots like Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket.

Once you are in Thailand, all you need to do is relax and enjoy your holidays with the exotic Thai cuisine, the breathtaking natural beauty and the magnificently architectured temples.

Phuket lies off the west coast of Southern Thailand in the Andaman Sea, approximately 890km from Bangkok. It is Thailand’s largest island at 550sq km, roughly the same size as Singapore, and is surrounded by many smaller islands that add a further 70 sq km to its total land area. Phuket is separated from the mainland by the Chong Pak Phra channel at its northernmost point, where a causeway connects the island to the mainland.
The lowlands consist of rice paddies, plantations of rubber, pineapple and coconut as well as the only significant area of rainforest remaining on the island, which is now protected as Khao Phra Thaeo Park.

The most beautiful beaches are found on the West coast, separated by rocky coves and headlands. The east coast comprises limestone shoals with only a few sandy beaches while spectacular limestone islands adorn the horizon. Coral gardens full of exotic marine life dot the emerald waters surrounding the island, although sadly much of Phuket’s coral has been disappearing due to environmental pressures and human activities.

Thailand is known for many things, wonderful beaches, great sightseeing, fantastic nightlife and smiling happy people! But did you know, it also produces some of the world’s finest table wines, which have both been recognised and exported around the world. This week we focus on one particular wine producer, Chateau De Loei, which is located in the stunning beautiful North Eastern province of the same name, Loei, near to the border with Laos.

Loei is a part of the country which is very different from most other parts of Thailand. Phu Ruea National Park has one of the highest peaks in the country and because of its height, the temperatures and the cooler climate of the area; conditions are very conducive to the cultivating and producing of fruits, vegetables and flowers, not normally found in this part of the world.

In fact, throughout Loei and in other neighbouring provinces, there are many attractions that can be visited to see this unique produce which includes strawberries, chinese pears, African Violets, Petunias and of course the vital ingredient for wine making is of course grapes, which grow here in abundance.

Loei has been described by some as a small piece of Southern France, in the heart of Asia, and this is certainly true for the Chateau de Loei, who have been producing fine Thai table wines since 1995.

Dr Chaijudh Karnasuta the founder of Chateau De Loei discovered that the Phuruea highlands were ideal for wine producing grapes and in 1995 bottled Thailand’s first commercially produced Thai Table wine.

His wine succeeded and his wine became the first from the country to be exported to Japan and Europe. Even the vineyards logo is named after the Chinese year in which Dr Chaijudh was born, The year of the ‘Rooster’ which in Chinese signifies ‘hard work and dedication’ and this has certainly been the case with Chateau De Loei.

The whole wine producing process takes place at the Vineyard, and tours are arranged for people to visit, see and taste the produce and even buy some to take away and enjoy. The fine Chenin Blanc and Syrah grapes are grown here and using French bottling equipment, the wine is produced and bottled, for local and export markets.

Credit for Chateau De Loei’s product success is partly given to the research undertaken by His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who found that the Phuruea climate, soil and water supply are ideal for the ‘best grape harvest’ that takes place in February and produces the best quality grapes for wine producing at that time.

The fine wines that are produced are fruit based wines, suiting different culinary experiences, Chateau De Loei produces three types of white (Chenin Blanc) and, two reds (Syrah) and one rose (Syrah) all with very distinct flavours and tastes suiting each individuals palette.

Initially designed for the domestic market and now a success Internationally, Chateau De Loei’s wines have added to Thailand’s reputation as a fine nation and an innovator, surprising people worldwide, with the quality of wine produce made.

So next time you make a visit to the Land of Smiles, or your even shopping for a bottle or two to take home for the evening, think of Chateau De Loei and either visit for yourself, or try a taste of this beautifully, scenic part of the world.

This Best Thailand Travel Guide combines useful information about Thailand in many aspects in order for travelers who wish to experience this country to have a brief view of the nation. The Guide will first explain about the country in general before describing what it has in each region so that travelers can decide where they want to go to make the most out of their trips.

One of the distinctive points about Thailand is the Thais. Many people know this nation as the Land of Smiles as the Thais are easy-going and always smiling. Thai people are normally kind, warm and welcoming to foreigners. Tourists can feel quite comfortable asking for directions or helps from Thai strangers during their trips. Some believe that this is the influence of Buddhism, which is the religion that approximately 90% of the population is believed in.

Besides the friendly people, the country has a great combination of unique culture, interesting long history, amazing cuisine and beautiful nature. As a result, Thailand has a vast variety of holiday destinations and activities for tourists to enjoy. Tourists can choose to experience many things in this territory from thick jungles, all-night parties, stunning beaches or something else that would appeal to everyone. Besides the tourist attractions, Thailand is also an excellent place to shop due to the incredibly low price items available. To make this article the easy and the best Thailand travel guide, the content in terms of attractions will be divided into regions, North, Central and South; due to the distinctive characteristics of each part of the country.

As mentioned, each part of Thailand has different characteristics and cultures. To the north of Thailand, especially in Chiang Mai, you will find some beautiful mountain landscape with many orchid farms and elephant training camps which would give visitors some unique experience that hard to find elsewhere. Up To Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle area, travelers can visit the hill-tribe people that still have strong native culture and rituals. With the extremely different way of living for these hill tribes, travelers can experience another world on this same planet. In addition in this area, tourists can have a chance to see nice view of Me Kong river, one of the World’s greatest rivers originated from Tibet area and divide

Thailand territory from Laos. Moreover, if ones wish to enjoy camping in the greenish forests up the hills, this can also be done in the northern region due to plentiful of the green areas that still beautifully exist in this part of the land.

Next is the best Thailand Travel Guide in the central part of the country. In this part, there are still a lot of natural attractions in boundless national parks with some stunning waterfalls. Additionally, there are more of the ancient cities with the existed ruins in Ayutthaya and Sukhothai that can say a lot about the long history of the nation. Last but not least, the capital city, Bangkok, is also located in this region.

To introduce Bangkok separately as it is the place where most visitors begin their journey in this country due to that Bangkok International Airport is the major arrival spot from flights around the world. Bangkok is one of the most crowded cities in the world with lots of traffic congestion, large amount of population and high-rise buildings; yet, it is the city with complete facilities, convenient transportation systems and large shopping malls and streets.

Finally for this best Thailand Travel Guide is the southern region, the slimmest and longest area of Thailand. This region is the land in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea so that beaches are the highlights of this area. Tourists are guaranteed to experience amazing beaches, stunning beautiful tropical islands and sparkling blue water. Moreover, many alternative western-standard accommodations are available from world-class hotels to backpacker places that can be matched with every taste and budget. Due to the existed beautiful reefs and underwater creatures, Scuba diving and snorkeling are normal activities visitors often choose to enjoy in this area.

There is a Thai joke saying that there are 3 seasons in Thailand: hot, hotter and hottest. Normally, most Thailand travel guides would say that the most recommended season to come to Thailand is during November to February as it is the least hot period, yet, the sun still shines beautifully.

March to May is considered too hot as it is the hottest period, which could be less tolerable for visitors especially westerners. And as the rain would then arrive during June to October, it is considered as too wet in the monsoon season of Thailand. However, this Best Thailand Travel Guide would choose to also recommend travelers to consider this wet season because this would be less crowded time to visit many attractions such as well-known beaches, ancient cities or temples. The best thing is that during this time with occasional rains, travelers can pay for much less for air fares and accommodations. Well-known hotels can reduce their rates up to 50-60% so that visitors can enjoy superior facilities at minimal expenses.
